The Presentation page have been updated as well as the purpose page. I have revealed some info about myself and what I’m doing! So check it out here and see the purpose of this network here

What’s the purpose of the Archaeology and Tech Network?

The purpose is to create a bridge between people interested in archaeology, history and technology and make it possible in easy ways to communicate and share ideas and knowledge. Much is happening both in archaeology (including history) as well as in the technology.

The world is becoming more and more digital which is both good and bad…

I want to bring both professionals as well as interested public to this from which all can benefit everyone from computer programmers to iron makers, carbon dating specialists as well as archaeologists or anyone just sharing

the interest!

So please leave comments, get in contact with me and others on the page, let’s get the discussions going and ideas flourishing! And follow us on Twitter archaeologytech and join the Facebook group Archaeology and Tech!

Who is the person behind this site?

My name is Fredrik Larsson 25 years old and currently working as an archaeologist in Sweden. My biggest interests is archaeology, history and technology.

I have studied at Lunds University and have a Master’s degree in Archaeology with focus on Scandinavia from about 15 000 BC to 1050 AD. I also got a Bachelor degree in Historical Archaeology 1050AD-til today.

Soon the much loved and hated “social forum page” will reach 500 million accounts. But for a while Facebook have got bigger and bigger security issues and the privacy settings have been quite strange. Some people have quitted but the most remains….

I think Facebook will continue to grow for a while all over the world especially since many people who didn’t like Facebook from the start have been in the crossfire from friends and relatives to join. So many people have made this sentence true “If you can’t beat them join them”.

It will be interesting to see what happens next with privacy settings and the growth rate of Facebook. One thing is for sure, the advertisers will make alot of money as usual…

Hello world!

After a long break I’m finally back again with a lot of things going on.

The spring was very busy, I finished a bachelor essay, got a job as an archaeologist as well as I got married! So it has been hectic but a fantastic spring and start of the summer. I’ve also been planing what I should do with the blog and how it should develop.

So now I’ve started rolling out Archaeology and Tech 2.0. I changed the layout around a bit, added more pages and so on.

The main focus will now to keep the blog live and growing but also to advance a bit to Youtube territory by start making videos. That’s also why I sometime will talk about ARATNE Archaeology and Tech Network.

My idea is to create a platform for technology and archaeology as well as a combination between those two subjects. So this blog will now be more of a homepage with a blog inside.

There will also be a Facebook group Archaeology and Tech. I’m also on Twitter as archaeologytech so add me there as well! The blog will continue giving news about archaeology and tech. For the tech stuff with computers both PC and Mac will be covered!

I will also start to make videos for Youtube about archaeological and tech news and interesting thoughts that comes to mind. I will also make tutorial and guides both on this homepage as well as videos on Youtube about models, photogrammetry, Blender and much more.

Reviewing both gear as well as books and articles will also be posted on the homepage as well as some of it on Youtube.

In the future I will also have a forum with the possibility to discuss archaeology and technology and discuss with people the possibilities of combining science with everyday technology. The forum will probably be on another homepage in the beginning but everything will be in the same place if this turns out well.

Under the links I will build a very large library of good homepages as well as Youtube videos which I hope can be of good use to you all.

So a lot will happen and it will take time so bear with me. I’m working 40 hours a week so all the fun work with ARATNE will happen sooner or later but I’ll take small steps at a time but will try hard to be quite regular on updates anyway in some form and it is major work to get everything togheter before I get a routine to create it as well.

But I hope you all look forward to it as much as I do, we are looking forward towards a bright future!

A lot of texts will be updated as well on the homepage during the coming week so stay tuned for more information. I’ll also post more information about it and present some ideas I hope some of you will be interested in participating in!
